The only things I've owned (hifi wise) that fall into this category are LS3/5a's and maybe the Marantz CD-63 KI Sig (ok the Ki isn't quite vintage)
However I wouldn't call myself a 'sheep'

Probably a reasonably small group of ‘active’ posters across the various hifi forums is another factor. Particularly when it comes to vintage stuff. The same small bunch pop up on lots of forums and possibly have a disproportionate influence.
