Croft micro playing up

Just plugged the Croft micro back in after using a JVC ax z 1010 for a few months, and its not working, sound is distorted, using it with a 909, replaced the croft pre with a cheapy passive and that works, so fault is defo in the Croft.

Agree about the valve, not sure how a blown fuse would make it distort though?

Thanks Dave, which fuse do I check? And how can I tell which valve is playing up?

it's mostly been the fuses in my experience. a blown fuse means heavy distortion.

Tried again and was working, then nothing, was using a Graham slee phone stage through line 1, changed to line 2 all fine. So what's up with line 1?

Is one pair a phono level input? Send some pics of the inside, from my experience line level micros have a single valve and phono level ones have 3 valves. That excludes regulator valves in the earlier (or perhaps some higher end later) models.
