    Default RIP Neil Innes

I was saddened to learn of the loss of Neil Innes (a founder member of the Bonzo Dog Band) who passed away at the end of December.

Writer, performer and musician he also worked with Monty Python and with Eric Idle to create 'The Rutles'; a spoof of the Beatles.

He also had a short-lived TV show called the "Innes Book of Records".

Never heard of the dude or the band [just a bit before my time], plus I was never a massive MP fan, but sorry to hear of his demise.

I have an old vinyl copy of "Monty Python Live at Drury Lane" on which this appears. Great stuff. Always sounded like a send up of John Lennon to me. Don't know if this was intentional, but as Oasis (world's biggest Beatles tribute band imo) did "Whatever" which sounds remarkably similar, I'm guessing it was.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

It is a great shame. His Rutles songs still hold up remarkably well:
