    Thanks Bev. In such a short time you can get really close to your pets and spend a lot of time with them. I agree with the unconditional love thing.

    Yes, emotion can be a strange thing. For example when my daughter went to university I was quite matter of fact about it all and seemed rather emotionless when we left her there.
    But a few times on the pet section here I've started to cry like a baby after reading something fairly mundane !, Sometimes I think there something wrong with me .lol

    Personally as much as I loved my pets etc my family losses have been harder. Much harder. But I guess it's a different closeness and different love.

    I feel for everyone loosing or lost a pet, the pain of losing any is real and I agree with the OP.

    Recently lost my dog Ben, hence the avatar.

    Nope, just a human feeling emotion for others loss. Nothing wrong with that, or shedding tears.
