Default Hello from a old fella

Hi all I joined today and hope to have some interesting time on here, I have only just started to get enough time to do a few things for myself after spending the last 2 years spending hours a day caring for my wife who was on life support for 9 weeks and so ill I was advised to turn her support off on xmas day 2017 anyway that is enough of that, I am starting to get back into my hifi once again having just put a new power supply in my Meridian g92 cd, next is new belts in my GX95 cassette and a new motor arm belt in my aiwa LP3000 record deck such is the damage of not using equipment for 2 years...lol.

    Welcome to AoS Martin,

We have a couple of Members here who have had to take time out to care for a loved one.

I'm sure all the belts are available (though you might have to do a bit of Googling), so you ought to have your system up and running soon. What are your tastes in music?

    Enjoy the Forum

    Hello Martin. Welcome to AOS.

Sorry to hear of your loss, sounds like you had a tough time.

We have quite a few 'old fellas' here, so you won't be alone. Mind you, there are plenty of younger members.

Take a look around the site and get used to the different sections. You'll find every aspect of Hi-Fi is covered and music too.

Join in anything that interests you, everybody is friendly.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

My taste in music varies Barry, but if I am testing new equipment one of my favourite albums is Love Over Gold by Dire Straits, but I have over 600 vinyl albums including a full set of Beatles first pressings, I have a smaller collection of cd's around 450 and a lot of flac files on my NAS drive. I can listen to most types of music and a failing of mine is judging an artist by the quality of their recording not the appeal of a track, one of my recently discovered songs is Lips Like Ether by Love and Money from the album Dogs In Traffic.

Really sorry to hear about that as well Martin. Those Beatles albums would certainly fetch a few quid if you fell on hard times mate. But great to have in the collection I should imagine. Enjoy the forum

I reckon the Beatles albums will be worth a bit but as with everything I have it is a question of when to sell them Brian, I took Sgt.Peppers to a dealer and he verified it as a first pressing then had the cheek to offer me £35 and that was last August, some things are better off being kept and left to family when I go pushing up daisies....lol
