FS: Avondale S100 Power Amp

For Sale is an Avondale S100 power amp. This is a dual mono amp, rated at about 90W into 8 ohms and based on Les's NCC200 boards (x2), Mini-Cap 6 power supplies (x2), 300V transformers (x2) and a soft start module. NCC220's are drop in too for upgrade potential.

This is a stunning power amp and somewhat to my surprise has run a Naim NAP 300 very close. I'm keeping the Naim as it is just a little bit smoother and has a bit more whack on the bottom end on my little Proacs. There is a bit more mid-band presence and clarity on the Avondale too but to be honest, its oh so close in most areas (and Les knows it ;-) ) - The Naim 300 is approx six times the cost of this on the used market!

An awful lot of amp for the money then. Asking a not unreasonable £600 for an amp in excellent condition.

Had one of these with an 82/Supercap a great amp and of course upgradeable with the new boards. Fantastic vfm.
