    OK basic question, what do you mean by 'the motor is decoupled'? Just getting my 401 set up now finally, so looking for advice, thanks.

    The motor is not attached to the 401 and therefore no vibration from the motor going into the platter. It's a common design and implemented on a regular basis.

    Does the motor still sit within the plinth or go walkies to a near by metal box?
