Following earlier advice, I bought a pair of HiFi grade 6.0mm van Damme speaker cables to connect my Myryad MP100/MA120 pre/power amp to my Kef Reference Series Model 2 speakers.
I could hear a definite improvement when playing cds through my Naim cd player.
I then decided to experiment with bi-wiring, with my QED Silver Anniversary cables to the LF and the van Damme to the HF.
When I switched on the amp I noticed a hum from both speakers which was not there before. Not loud, but noticeable, not audible when listening to music. The hum seems to be slightly worse when selecting the "aux" input to which I connect phono preamp.
I would be interested to know if anyone had experienced this before. Any comments or suggestions would be gratefully received.
Perhaps I should just forget bi-wiring?
