    Talking Hello from Scunthorpe!

    Hello everyone!
I'm Rob from Sunny Scunthorpe and have just rekindled my interest in Hi-Fi after selling my original budget system (Manticore Mantra TT, Cambridge P40 amp and JPW P1 speakers) back in the late 90's.

I've just bought a Marantz CD606 UK CD player, B&W606 speakers with a Rega Brio amp coming soon. It's really exciting to be building a new system and hopefully what I am putting together will sound ok (any advice would be gratefully received!).

I have a huge variety of music likes from swing Jazz to AC-DC but love music made with real instruments that make the system shine (swing jazz!).

I've never been a member of a Hi-Fi forum but am an active member on both the Scunthorpe United and Renaultsport forums 😁

I'm looking forward to talking about Hi-Fi with you all!
    Rob

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I've been through Scunthorpe many times on the Doncaster to Grimsby train and I have to say it was rarely sunny. (My mum lives in Louth.)

Hahaha! Thanks for that Lawrence, I knew you'd be a friendly bunch To be fair, it's not sunny.

    Welcome to AoS Rob.

Scunthorpe is just as 'sunny' as anywhere else, unless the weather there has changed in the last 45 years. A university mate of mine lived there and invited me to come and stay with him for a couple of weeks. I remember being absolutely fascinated in the way the sky would be lit up at night when they tipped slag - not surprisingly the motto on the town's coat of arms is (I think): "The heavens reflects our labours".

But I digress - nice tastes in music by the way.

    Enjoy the Forum
