    Default Goodbye old friend

Sort of a sad day yesterday I parted compant with old faifull ,
    My Fiat Panda 10 reg

Owned from new , 103.000 trouble free miles , only ever failed one MOT on a near side lower ball joint. I owned the car for 10 years and NEVER ever had to put a light bulb in it , still using all the originals , Even the battery was 10 years old and just showing signs of packing up , Well done Exide

Sad to see it go , hopefully the new owner will be happy

It was my most trusted steed of all time

Bit of a bugger to get big speakers in the back though Allen (thinking back to Kegworth)

    Great reliability though.

Emotions are always mixed when parting with a trusty motor. I had my superb little 2004 Suzuki Carry 1.3 van for eight years and loved the thing. Needed more seats so it went, wasn't happy though.

Funny how we can get emotionally attached to objects, or is that just me. I'd really like to give some other speakers a go, but I'll struggle to part with my current ones. even though I've only had em six years. And my FireBlade will be buried with me.

You're not wrong Allen - during the 12 months that it has been sitting unrepaired in the garage, our TV has been inundated with 24 hours in helicopter A&E ambulances type programmes which would have you believe that riding bikes brings nothing but death and disabling injuries. A year ago I was keen to get back on, now I'm not so sure

    Default Goodbye old friend

I left my slightly less fatal(?) Ninja 600 in the garage for 10 years, then in a fit of pique arranged to have it restored/recommissioned. Luckily it is being done by a family member, on an “as and when” basis, so it’s not back yet, but even though I only intend to pootle about on it at 30mph there is a certain amount of trepidation about getting it back. Mainly because I know I won’t pootle, however much I tell myself I will, but also because I know that now I’m an old fart I may not even be able to swing my leg over the thing, let alone have the necessary reflexes to pilot an Exocet missile! Maybe I’ll just let her be a trailer queen, and tow her to the shows behind my Land Rover...
