    Hi Mike

    If you carefully put the drawer on the runners with them fully extended out and then gently start to slide it back and see if the drawer will then go fully back. If not then there should be a small catch on each runner that need to be pushed in as you slide the drawer back once past these then the drawer should go full back. The catches are there to stop the drawer coming off the runners when you pull it open.

    What about sliding a steel ruler or similar through the slots to see if it releases the spring catches (assuming that's what's holding the drawers in).
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    the catches only need releasing when taking drawer out.

    Well if you can get the drawers out, try some new runners of a different type.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    No there will be a release mechanism further down the sliders that are stop it going back in some of the more expensive ones used in office furniture have little button pushes 2/3rds the way back along the top or bottom edge. If the runners are screwed to the inside of the cabinet it might be worth taking one out so you can carefully and easily inspect it to see where the stop is.
