    Lol... I like folk to show me *exactly* what they're referring to! Interesting... I've seen jackets like that before, but didn't know they were called 'Pea Coats'. Never heard of that before, so something new learned

    Thought you'd know a pea coat. Famous navy apparrel. Had one when younger. quite warm.

    Lol - nope, not "famous" to me, as I'm not a big fan of the navy or know much about it. I like that style of coat though, but before today couldn't have told you what it was called!

    What does the "pea" refer to, then?

    Its from the Dutch "pije" which was a rough woolen fabric coat. The British Navy then kinda made it theirs and the Yanks followed
