Having spoken to Rob, here with his blessing is the HiFi Choice review of the R9. As you will see when you read it, it is very complementary and will be an ideal speaker for someone!

No probs Rob- I think they sound like a speaker for the connoisseur, a sophisticated listen. Impressed with the bass too- in their test room 20hz only 7dB down, far field...

Yes, the best description I can give them is a 'Grown-Up Rega', compared to their smaller models, just expands on that with a speaker that does very little wrong in all departments.
