    Default Hacked?

    Hi all,

Looks like someone is targeting my username to try and get into the forum.

I can't log in directly to the forum via chrome. Had this email too:

    Dear Bigman80,

Someone has tried to log into your account on The Art of Sound Forum with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 185.93.228.4

    All the best,
    The Art of Sound Forum

I have limited access via Tapatalk so thought I'd try and put a message on the forum.

I have tried to log in directly but It looks as though the perpetrators are still trying.

Can someone look into this please.

    Oliver

Hi Oliver - you've not been hacked (yet), but someone is obviously trying to log in as you, and getting knocked back because they don't know your password.

I've made a change to expose the original IP address of the person trying to log in (rather than the IP address of our firewall), and if it happens again, let me know the IP address in the message you get (which should be different from the one above) and I'll put it on the naughty list.

    Thanks for letting me know.
I suspect that the change I've just made to expose user IP addresses from behind the new firewall will solve this issue.
If this happens to anyone else going forward, can you paste the IP address given in the email you get into this thread (or PM me) and I will check it out.
You might want to double-check that it isn't actually your own IP address via a Google search on 'What is my IP address'.

Was locked out for 15 minutes but ok now, I just put it down to the work going on on the forum software.

    None taken Roy.

I appreciate you taking the time to post, it's useful to have feedback. We only made the change this morning and already seemed to have ironed out a couple of things. Better than having them only come up days or weeks later...

Oh, maybe not an individual but a cookie error. Cool.

    Thanks for the help all!
