Your generosity to yourself knows no bounds! I hope you appreciate how lucky you are to have you in your life! My birthday comes a week after Christmas, when everyone is skint and hungover. In spite of this I usually do quite well

Don't do Christmas pressies these days. It's all about the kids. We do two shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse (presents for disadvantaged kids around the world) and splurge on nice food and booze instead!

I like your thinking Alex, it is much more in line with the true spirit of Christmas imo. Unfortunately I don't get to make such decisions, and if I came with that idea Mrs. P would initially say ok then, but then 'surprise' me with something, which would just make feel like a tight git

We do concentrate on kids/grandkids. With three additions since last Christmas, it's starting to get expensive. What really winds me up though is that Anita takes on the role of Father Christmas for two of her grown up kids and her dad. She suggests gift ideas, goes out and buys them, wraps them and all them lazy sods do is give her the money for them afterwards. It's quite mental really.

Is this a model which has been around since 2004? It may be that it hasn’t been surpassed by many others since then, but the reviews I found seem to date from as far back as the early years of this millennium.

No it's not new, nor is any of my other Levinson gear - but it's the one I have wanted for a while now.

It's a beautiful sounding unit. I've heard one many times.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Did you get it at a good price? One of my friends has some really good kit. I know he tried out some Levinson kit, but I don’t know what he finally bought. I think it did include at least one Levinson unit.

Yes, and from a seller in the UK, so no import tax, VAT etc.
