Default Magneplanar 20.7's now on Demo, Now This Is What You Call A Speaker!

    Hi Everyone,

This is just a quickie to say that we now have the Magneplanar 20.7 Speakers on Demo, most definitely the biggest speaker we ever have had in HiFi Lounge that is for sure but they really do sound absolutely incredible.

I love Maggies but due to their size they are not for everyone but pretty much everyone that hears them are captivated by them, they offer a presentation quite like nothing else so when a customer rang a couple of weeks ago enquiring if he could demo the 3.7’s, which we have on permanent demo, against the 20.7’s I was as keen as mustard to get it arranged, more on a personal note really as I have been wanting for years to spend some quality time with the 20.7’s. In a stroke of luck Symmetry were using them at the Ascot show which we were working at so after the show we picked them up and bought them straight back here, happy days.

The demo is tomorrow so I’m sure the customer will be won over by the 20.7’s, just hope he can fit them in his house.

If they don't sell, just send them to me - I'll swap for my Quad ESL 57s, no sweat. I have had three sets of smaller Magnepans here: MG12, MG 1.7i and MC1 (wall-speakers tilted outwards). They all sounded incredibly life-like but at the time(s) I did not have the right set-up for them although I drove them with vastly different kit from a Nait 2 (MC1) to Naim Nap 200 (MG12) and Butler TDB 2250 (MG 1.7i). If you can accomodate them, they are thrilling speakers. My thirst for them was only quenched when I got my ESL 57s.

They remind me of the monoliths in "2001: A Space Odyssey".

I've heard a few of the smaller Magnaplanar speakers, and liked them all - but then I like planar dipole speakers.

Great looking place you have there Paul, with all the best of stuff on demo, impressive. I’m sure it took a lot of work. Who wouldn’t want to hear that set up?
