I think the original recording was on a 24-track analogue machine, and overdubbed onto a 32-track Mitsubishi digital recorder. ims

The first digital recording presented on vinyl I heard was Ry Cooder's 'Bop Till You Drop'. It's awful - the musicians are totally two-dimensional and pop in and out like the flags of an old-fashioned cash register.
Despite that, I do like the album - I just don't listen to it 'on-axis'.

Bop is thin and bright and on my LP copy, one channel is about 6dB down on the other.

Well when you are recovering from some health issues you have lots of time to hunt down nicely priced vinyl and build a nice collection, plus I rather likely the touchy feely experience.Blimey Adrianyou ARE seriously into this , Well done mate

Wether digital or analogue is best isn't of any real importance what is important is which you prefer and why it is so important to some of you to prove that either, or sounds best is beyond me.

Best is subjective anyway, and there is no compulsion to have a preference. Some people will have, others not, and the preferences of different people may very well be different. So for some it's just not important at all.
Might be interesting though.

My cat Roley has a very strong preference for streaming - he can sit on my lap for hours undisturbed as I happily listen and control everything by remote.
