What you might have missed out on is realising digital is much better if you use a technically crap DAC running a microphonic triode output stage using valves from circa 1920 to the current day.Think I only heard your TT once, it was at NEBO 5 or 6, but it was enough to convince me that vinyl was the way to go.
I may be a bit unusual in the audiophile world as I gave up on vinyl in 1983/84 and was CD based only until I heard a TT again in 2014. I had honestly not heard a piece of vinyl in those years but that experience in 2014 made me completely give up CD and return back to vinyl and unlike most folk replacing their treasured vinyl with CD versions I did the opposite!
So when you downgrade it to nearly be as technically terrible as vinyl unquestionably is you get a result.
Huge grin in my face typing that. But it's true as far as I am concerned.

I respect his review of the Luxman M-800A power amp. I consider it to be absolutely spot on. He describes it's character so well it is almost uncanny. Genuinely as accurate as any subjective review could be.

The human ear doesn't seem to care how technically good something is. It just likes hearing certain aspects of music reproduction.
Injecting dither is a simple way to prove the point.
Dither is just random noise. We hear it as space and air. It's been proven in blind listening tests. People prefer the dithered version. Even Porcupine Tree have played with it.
Also a record deck is microphonic by its very nature. So acoustic feedback is another characteristic many people love to hear.
The point is vinyl is bad. And it's bad in a way many humans like. A DAC that emulates this badness to the same extent (well not quite) will display these positive virtues if it's done well. Or good 'bad' if you catch my drift.
Simple enough I reckon.
