QED Reference optical cable

Does anybody here use one, and if so, are they worth the additional cash compared to a plastic optical cable?
I will be connecting either my PC or CD player to my modified Caiman SEG with it.

One of the reasons for asking is the Fisual Hollywood optical cable I sue seems to create issues with my SEG when fed from the Asus Essence STX II digital out. I swap it for the XO gold cable that Jerry recommended and the problem goes away. This would suggest that there is an issue with the Hollywood cable.

Changing sound signature mode on the SEG with the Hollywood made no difference.
