The government and the rest of the authorities are doing their level best to suck all the fun/pleasure out of driving, by building boring, soulless electric cars, and making the roads themselves (full of speed cameras, speed bumps, etc), as 'anti-fun' as possible

Well, I for one will be continuing to rebel against that, and so vow that any car I'll be driving, for the remainder of my driving career, will first and foremost be designed to put a BIG GRIN on my chops - and to fuck with all else!!

Life's too short, and I refuse to be a manipulated puppet of 'the system', so Alfa Giulia here we come....

Lol - smug comments how? You're not trying to justify that behaviour are you, or say that it doesn't deserve lambasting?

Sure, but the difference is, I (and most likely others here who consider themselves as good drivers) would be confident of being able to prove it, if tested!

Most of the assholes we're referring to couldn't 'pass' their grannies on a bus.

I suspect a lot of the comments were made by drivers who like to sit in the far lane doing 75mph, or not much more. The number of times I have seen cars join a motorway and automatically go over to the outside lane and just sit there thinking it is their right.

Great thing about Scotland is you only get 2 lanes so it's not an option. There is usually a queue in lane 2 at busy times as a van or lorry wants to go 1 mph faster than the lorry in front thus causes chaos.
Tbh up here that is the biggest issue

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
