“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Haha very true Oli, massive impression along with the Neurochrome amp. The only speakers I have heard that can outclass your Mordaunt Short speakers were a pair of Dynaudio Confidence C4s but these are about £18,000!!

Our listening session highlighted a huge amount of great stuff going on with your system but ultimately you have to have a pair of speakers that can articulate this. The Mordaunt short performance 880s delivered everything you could want from a speaker with a refinement and control only the very top end speakers can achieve. They are a window into the rest of your system which as I said made much of the electronics disappear, you simply were not aware you were listening to a system.

Well done mate for falling on these, the hifi gods were smiling on you!
    Main system : VPI Scout 1.1 / JMW 9T / 2M Black / Croft 25R+ / Croft 7 / Heco Celan GT 702

    Second System : Goldring Lenco GL75 / AT95EX / Pioneer SX590 / Spendor SP2

For a dyed in the wool valve guy like you to feel that way about my now rather modern setup, says more than any review could!

I've had a lot of luck with the system and I should, and want to give a shout to Mr Ianlenco because he let me have the Neurochrome Preamp at a sincerely low price. He's a gentleman, and I will repay the favour one day, if he want's something I am selling.

    Yes, lots lol.

I'll put a bit in the Bigblog rather than take over the speaker thread with it.
