Default Tannoy Berkeleys, Magnums, Spendor BC1, Minium, Q-Acoustics and more...

Imminent move to a vastly smaller place forces a (somewhat painful) clear-out. Lots more detail pix on the Flickr account...

Tannoy Berkeleys (15in HPD-385) - £1400 collected from Bedford. SSTP...
In full working order, the surrounds were done (by either Lockwood or Wembley, can’t remember which the previous owner said) a few years back, all still good. One cabinet has a minor cup-type mark, otherwise as you can see, all in nice shape for the age.

    Two changes from spec…
First, the (useless) original bare wire loudspeaker terminals have been swapped out for proper 4mm posts. 2nd, the crossover has been upgraded to a pair of Pair A Series speaker crossover crossovers from MainlyTannoy (£210). Added a nice degree of crispness with digital sources, IMHO. However, both of the original crossovers will also be supplied so easy to swap back if preferred. Also have some wooden wooden risers that the buyer can have, gratis.

Magnum MP125 Pre and MF250 Stereo Power Amp - £300 the pair, collected from Bedford.
Both fully recapped a couple of years ago. Speaker terminals replaced for proper binding posts of the power amp. No foibles other than the fact that the stereo/mono control detent is gone, not a biggie, still operates fine. One screw missing on rear panel of the pre, was missing when purchased. Both units working as they should, sound quality is superb, powerful and assured. Ace phono stage too.

Spendor BC1 amps (with back panels), crossovers, grilles, 1 x mid and 1 x treble - £100 collected from Bedford. SSTP...
Pretty much as described, the M25 amps are in full working order, as are the crossovers and drive units. Thoroughly recommend taking passive BC1s active, absolutely transformational. Grilles solid, need re-covering Buyer will also get the sanded down cabs, in need of recovering or, ideally, re-veneering.

Your title mentions Magnums but no details in your post. What do you have?

Lovely looking Berkeleys. The cup mark is easy to blend out.

The Magnums are the amps. No Goodmans speakers here.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
