I've just bought a Raspberry Pi from Oli/Angus.

I have plugged it into a monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse and I haven't a clue what to do from here. It is a blank screen asking me for a Volumio login and password, which of course I don't have.

I want to load Tidal on it but I'm not sure how to even get past the first step. Never used a PI before so totally clueless about how they work.

    Can anyone help?

The odd thing is if I type a login, 'admin' or whatever, it then asks me for a password but when I type in the password field nothing happens. It just does nothing then goes back to the login request.

OK the best thing to do is have a read of the set up process at https://volumio.org/get-started/ scroll down for the instructions.

You need a computer and a USB or SD Card adapter that takes a micro SD (the one from your RPI), before you get into setting it up, it may be worth asking Oli/Angus if he had Volumio loaded on it, although you may want to get the latest version anyway.

Basically you connect to the RPI over your network, I find it best to have the RPI connected to the ASDL box by ethernet cable. I presume that your RPI has a DAC attached? This enable you to connect it using RCA cables to you Hifi system.

You control and configure Volumio from a computer using volumio.local/ , or a mobile device (phone or tablet) such as iPhone or iPad, on these you can download the Volumio software to connect to your RPI.

To use TIDAL on Volumio you need a subscription Account with Volumio see https://volumio.org/volumio-plans-pricing/

    I hope this helps.

It does have Volumio installed which is why it is asking for a Volumio login and password. Oli said it had an SD card loaded too.

You really don't need it connected to at monitor or a keyboard.
Just find it on your network. Fing on a mobile will give you the ip address. Type that into a browser and it should pop up. Initially at least, connect it to router with an ethernet cable.. It has a semi auto set up if it is not already set up. If it is then just show it where music is

    Hi John
You have my sympathy.. had similar issues myself and hope you can simply pick up Volumio on your network.
My problem seemed that Volumio wouldn’t recognise my NAS on the same network.
I got round it by reflashing a ‘legacy’ Volumio - my theory being that the problem has been caused by Volumio wanting a subscription.
Ultimately I’ve got round it all by downloading the latest MOode
Then flashing that onto an SD card- you may need to follow the brilliant instructions
I then access Tidal as the pi becomes a upnp point for Audirvana.
    Hope this helps
