Will I be better loading Volumio onto it instead of Moode?

Thanks for the offer of a video call, maybe an option if I don't get it set up from the instructions.

I don't understand what going on to be fair lol.

If you have audio then the pi and the Boss are all working. I don't know why it won't play the radio.

I do understand Volumio far better.

I always struggled to get Tidal playing directly from Volumio.
Think you need to pay for a subscription.
Which is why I had to go back to a ‘legacy’ version of Volumio.
I could only get it working as ‘broadcasting’ from tidal on Mac or phone and the pi being picked up as a upnp renderer.
You can still do this with MOode.
Here is an example tonight where I have the tidal app on my iPhone and configured MOode to receive a ‘broadcast’ to MOode (which is an identical set up to yours)

I've got the internet radio working now . I've now downloaded Volumio so will reflash the card with Volumio tomorrow then have another go.

As you say, it was just about getting it working for now.

    Cheers Oli (and everyone else).

    Ahh.. brilliant.
The more you play around the easier it gets to understand.
One tip- if settings don’t seem to be working after using the configuration process , find the reboot button.

Ok I've followed Steve's instructions and I have got Tidal working via Moode . I have to access it through BubbleUPnp which is a bit convoluted but at least it works.

I may have a go at getting it working more directly now that I understand it better.

Thanks for all your help and patience chaps, it's really appreciated .

    Great news John.
Kind of high fivingly joyous when it works!

I have the same kit as you, and would say that the linear power supplies and allo dac propel this to a high level.
I actually have 3 pi set ups round the house. The main one with MOode and another two with Volumio.
Never managed to get Volumio pushing out Tidal on its own. Didn’t try too hard though.
That was because I put Audirvava on a cheapo Mac mini and leave it on pretty much headless all the time.
Then using the Audirvana app on my phone I can sent Tidal through each pi set up as I wish.
Then you get the advantage of mqa playback.. and it’s very very good.

Good luck and well done for perseverance!

Audirvana might be worth considering too if you don't get on with Bubble and you don't want to pay a Volumio subscription.

Audirvana also unfolds mqa files if your dac doesn't which I don't think the boss does.

Its about £65 but it's a well made software package.
