    Default Small floorstanding speaker recommendation

    Hi all,

My daughter’s system consists of a Roksan Radius 5 / Nima, Whest Two, Roksan Kandy K2 amp and Epos M5 standmounts.

It all sounds pretty good albeit a bit lightweight and we can’t help feeling that a better / bigger speaker would give more ‘presence’ and weight to the sound.

She likes electronic, rock, dance music so a reasonable amount of bass would be good.

However space is limited in the 15’ x 9’ room and they will need to be close to a rear wall.

    Budget around £500 secondhand.

    Any suggestions?

Have thought about Neat Motive 2, PMC GB1, Edwards Audio SP2.

    Many thanks
    Jon

You might find a pair of Neat Motive SX2s if you are lucky - a pair sold on here a couple of years ago for £650. Downward firing bass which goes surprisingly deep and cute in stature. I had a pair which Alan bought and really liked the presentation.

Fyne Audio F500’s, a friend of mine has some and loves them, slightly over budget at £600 though. There is also a small floor stander the F302 5* rated and award winner on WHF for £399.

    Some good suggestions.

I do like the idea of downward firing ports. Is it Audio Physic that does this too?

Do the Regas need space to the side where the bass driver is?

Were richer sounds selling them cheap a few years ago? Would have thought there would be a few knocking about if so.

Rega R3, You can choose which side the drivers are, mine face inwards and there's a chimney breast about 25cm away, no issues.

You can face the drivers outwards too.
