I ended up with severe heart damage due to myocarditis, having no previous problems with blood pressure or any heart related problems. My message is to get your flu jabs if you are 60 or over (I was 59 when this episode occurred). We underestimate the serious of the "flu" in this country. It is a potential killer even for the relatively young in good health.
