Default Best Budget DAC for LG OLED with Toslink Out and

    Hey All,

Can anyone recommend a half decent DAC to use with an LG OLED TV with Toslink to go into an old Musical Fidelity X-A1 and set of Tannoy R3's. Will use alongside Apple TV too for streaming with Spotify and have a splitter if needed.

Looking to spend anything from £20-120 and happy to go second hand.

    Cheers

Found this that looks pretty good for the money: https://www.schiit.co.uk/modi-3

    Anything to beat it?

The cyp ones around £35/40 are great for telly and decent for music too, I thought

For television decoding, I used the FiiO D03K Taishan with great results.

Agreed, I'm using one for my tv and bd player. Not much can beat it for the low price for a quality DAC.

I had this little DAC for a few years before upgrading to the Schiit Audio Modi3. It has a nice warm and smooth presentation, but doesn't have the resolution, dynamics and output volume of the Modi3 (1.5v output vs. 2v w/ the Modi3)

Price to performance ratio on the Modi. I think the FiiO is a solid candidate. Output voltage would be an issue, depending on the stereo amplifier capabilities... surely?
