Default Wrong power supply ???? Advice needed

I have one of those AMPTASTIC amps. One of those tiny little things about the size of my hand.

Ive had it for ages but never really used it. It sounds great for what it is, and seems to work perfectly, but the power supply gets hot!!! (Not the actual amp )

I remember some guys telling me it was the wrong power supply, but I cant remember who they were, or what they said.

So, I’m looking for advice on what replacement power supply I need to buy to feel safer !!

On the back of the amp it says.... 12vDC

On the present power supply it says..... INPUT 100-240v- 0.5A
    50-60HZ. 40-60VA
    OUTPUT - 12v- 1.5A

That means nothing to me, but hopefully someone can advise me.
Even better would be if they could link me to what I need.

    Thanks

I think you need a bigger power supply. 4 amps should be OK.

The recommended power supply looks to be here: https://www.amptastic.com First though just email amptastic to seek their advice for your exact model.

Or this one that I use with my TPA3116 amps. It has selectable voltage and multiple plugs to choose from, so should fit.

I run mine off a 12v battery and it sounds superb. Started with a little 7ah battery and now onto a big old caravan battery.

The improvements over a mains psu were huge and at little cost too. All you have to do is butcher a suitable lead into its +ve and - ve then connect to battery.

This was the first batt I bought for my mini 1. Charged it about once every 3 or 4 weeks.
