Default FS: Transmission Audio M1i - Reference standmount speakers

Not too sure where to start with these. They are so rarely available that even pricing is a bit thumb in the air

Anyway, up for sale are my immaculate pair of Transmission Audio M1i speakers.

I'm not very good at describing what I hear but the web has many fantastic reviews (can't find a bad one) from some well respected reviewers, a couple opting to use them as their reference monitors. A typical example -

"Sometimes, but only occasionally, an every so often kind of thing happens. Today, I had one of those things happen. I got to audition a Transmission Audio M1i monitor.

These things aren’t terribly big, but the sound they throw out — oh my. With a 5″ woofer and four ribbons in the tweeter, the little M1i’s image like I’ve never heard. Crazy good. Easily on par with my much more expensive Merlin VSM-MXR
speakers. And in some ways, with some material, [whispering] they might be better."

    And some reviews -

    https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2011/...-m1i-monitors/

    https://www.stereophile.com/content/...smission-audio etc ......

They look fantastic and sound even better.

Although the pics show a difference in colour, that is just the light, they are both the same

These originally retailed for $4500 and were highly regarded, even at that price.

The only pairs I have seen for sale recently are a dreamer on eBay asking for £1795, a pair that sold in Japan for £1200 equiv and 3 years ago, a rather tatty pair that sold for $900.

Mine are in super condition and come with original double boxes, socks, instructions and, I believe the white gloves, so you don't mark the veneer when you take them out of the boxes

I really don't know what to ask, so I am going to say £ 800 + delivery, which I think is a bargain but, if I am way off beam, please let me know.

    Thanks for looking.

They do look interesting , I have not yet owned any speakers with ribon tweeters most I have seen have 1 , yours have 5
But looking at the reviews they dont say they sound bright or fatiguing
    Someone should nab these soon

No, they certainly don't sound bright or fatiguing.

Very fast, detailed and with an almost holographic, lifelike soundstage.

I think these look great. Love unusual gear

Not after a pair myself but I know ribbon speakers can sound amazing so GLWS seems v reasonable given the original price tag.

Judging by the few pairs I can find that have changed hands and the sound quality on offer, I think they are a bargain, but then I would, wouldn't I ?

Those drivers look remarkably like the Jordan JX92S.

but, guys, don't you realise that, for the.money you just couldn't buy a better sounding pair of stand mount speakers ?

Could be open to a swap for a decent CDP or streamer.
