In the past I would possibly refer to something being “gay” but I wouldn’t now - I think generally we’ve moved on and are much more tolerant and accepting that it is normal to have a same-sex relationship and therefore offensive to degenerate it.

I think among friends, gay or not, but in person, it's fine.
Posting it on a forum etc always opens ones self up to it being misconstrued. Sometimes by prudes, sometimes by agitators. It's become a bit of a minefield tbh.
As much as I disagree with things like homophobia, I also struggle with the perpetual politically correct crew who must be 'right '

Difficult to say - Personally I don't find it offensive and have used the term occasionally, but never publicly and only with friends whom I know share a similar humour.
I know quite a few gay men and women, but I honestly don't know how they feel about it. There's this one lesbian who I will see on Saturday, and maybe I'll ask her if I can pluck up the courage - she's the same height as me but twice as wide. I have a feeling she would be more offended by that last sentence
