    Default Multimeter Fuse query

Hoping this might be the right place for this...
My multimeter needs a new fuse rated 250 mA 600 V (AC or DC not specified) FF
I am having trouble finding an exact match and would appreciate some advice on the below.

would fitting a 1000V fuse be safe?
the blown fuse is ceramic going by appearance, could a glass one be used instead?

    Thanks, Mark

If you can source a 1000v glass fuse which can be seen as to its condition - at 250ma it will be fine. It is the amperage and the rating at which the disconnection occurs which is important
A fast blow fuse would be advantageous if not mandatory for a multimeter.
