Default Thanks from rainy Cornwall !

    Hi

I'm a low end hifi type, system cheap & cheerful , Linn lp12 + Grace 707 + Gram Amp 2(Original plastic box one) , Yamaha A-S501, Monitor Audio Silver Speakers and Philips CD753!
Music 60's garage & psyche and 80's indie and anything new that I find interesting & challenging or just plain Great !

Mainly into vinyl but also now considering exploring Cd's(again) and players(old) now they are so cheap!

Looking to upgrade my Phono stage, most probably to a Gram Amp 2 Communicator & CD player to a old higher end one, I also want to get a TDA1541 based one just out of curiosity !

    Cheers

    Hello Brynn. Welcome to AOS.

I wouldn't describe your system as "cheap & cheerful", it looks decent. I think you may benefit by looking a little higher in the Graham Slee range and try the ERA Gold V though.

    Welcome Brynn,

No, not cheap and cheerful at all. I bought a s/h LP12 with grace arm in 1986, and it was the biggest single improvement I made.

If you're after a cheap CD player, DVD players can give good results. I used to have a Teac one and it worked pretty good.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

Thanks everyone, well let's call it a low end system then ;-) and since I posted I snagged a "Pioneer PD-S505 Precision" cd player ! Yet to arrive !
And originally the idea was to get a higher class Phono stage, was going to get a Arcam rPhono...... But the upgrade money has depleted faster than I envisaged so now looking at the £150/80 mark !

Ps I still love the aesthetics and sound of my old Grace G707 and will never upgrade it........ It's still a dream of mine to pair it with its legendary partner the Supex 900 !
