Me too, although I'm still the type who when his head hits the pillow, is out for the count until morning. Del though, is always snuggled in beside (or cuddling) me when I'm sleeping, so I very rarely sleep alone - only when we're not together. I can never fathom why some married couples sleep in separate beds...Had my usual, rather unhealthy, five hours kip

I disagree about it really being "better", providing that both of you are close and in good health.
Otherwise, certainly in your situation, or others like it, I can understand why it could be better sleeping apart. However, Del and I have always been very close, even after nearly 30 years of marriage, and touch wood have no health issues, so always hate it when we're apart, sleeping or otherwise.
The only time we sleep in separate beds is when either of us have the cold (or flu), and don't want the other to catch it, which surprisingly can be rather effective!
