Nice to be appreciated, though the taxman ain't gonna get rich off my latest batch of duty free

In the past smokers have been accused of being a drain on the NHS, though I feel the opposite is true - if I retire at 67, and peg it 5 years later from a smoking related illness, certainly the hospital treatment and palliative care wouldn't be cheap.

But compare that to a non smoker who lives for another 20 years past retirement. That's 20 years of state pension, free prescriptions and other concessions, at the end of which he'll still get sick and eventually die of something. Healthy folk are the real tax burden!

Are you one week on, one week off, or something more complicated?
