Yep i had to go to Morrisons on Friday night, or the old folks shop as i call it, i thought i'd get in and out as i got in from work which was about 7pm, i usually shop at Asda in Clayton le Woods they carry a bit of vinyl and it's usually reasonably priced, anyway i got there to find a cue around the building and the car park half full, same at the Asda in Chorley, only bloody Morrisons wasn't busy.

I don't think you need to say it any more times, we all know about Aldi and Lidl. And they're both great if they have everything you need. Unfortunately for me they don't, which means going to Asda or Morrisons as well. Then extra fuel costs cancel to some degree the savings you might make. And before you say it, yes I have tried some of the alternative brands and products, and I've yet to be impressed. Some stuff is as good as known brands, but next to no savings made on them.How many times do I have to say it, folks.... USE ALDI OR LIDI...!!!

Anyway, we didn't go to Morrisons after all. Went instead to an Iceland "Food Warehouse" recently opened. A big store with lots of space and only about a dozen shoppers this morning. Managed to get everything her dad wanted, and they were brands he would know.

That's cool. What I meant was not to be 'automatically programmed' into always going to the main supermarkets, without even thinking, just out of habit, as you right now you might be better off using the likes of Aldi or Lidl, or small independent stores, as their shelves tend to be more fully stocked and there are less queues.
The queueing thing is crucial for me, as no way am I going to be standing with a bllody trolley in long queues around a supermarket, not even knowing when I get in if they'll have anything left of what I'm looking for! I've got far better things to do with my time, which is why I'm targeting places where I know I'll get what I need, including from local butchers and farm shops

100% with you there mate, i loath shopping at the best of times, but now we have to cue, no fucking way on this planet is that ever going to happen. i agree with Steve Aldi and Lidl are ok but you can't get everything there, so back to my 1st point "i loath shopping" there's no way i'm going into 2 shops to get some food, plus i don't think the savings are as big as they once were, i think Aldi and Lidl have upped their prices a bit and Asda in particular has lowered its prices, each to their own though.The queueing thing is crucial for me, as no way am I going to be standing with a bllody trolley in long queues around a supermarket, not even knowing when I get in if they'll have anything left of what I'm looking for!
