That model of Princess used a four litre six cylinder engine, that found its way into early Jensen sports coupes as I recall.

I didn't realise until I followed this up that Jensen was actually a UK car maker. I always imagined it was a Scandinavian car. How wrong I was - the original firm was started by someone called Smith.

I once had a ride in one which probably looked a bit like this. The distinctive feature was the wrap around rear window - though I thought it wrapped round even more than that. It was OK - but I'm not sure I'd say any more than that.

The Jensen Interceptor is pretty much my favourite car of all time. There used to be a garage in the next street from me that specialised in vintage sports cars and there was usually a couple of them parked nearby.

The Jensen Interceptor is pretty much my favourite car of all time.

My brother had one. Flogged it and got a V12 E Type instead. He drives about in a diesel pickup now.

I think that with classic cars (or indeed most cars), what you like is heavily influenced on whether or not you're a DRIVER or simply an admirer...

In that respect, there are lots of vintage cars that I think 'look cool', but in reality won't be great to drive, simply because, in comparison with modern cars, they'll handle like a dog's dinner - and that'll only become obvious if you get behind the wheel...

Therefore, as a driver and also someone who, when the conditions are right, likes to take cars to their limits, what I like, when it comes to vintage cars, is not only dependent on looks/styling, but very importantly if I'm considering owning it, how the car in question will DRIVE and handle at SPEED, particularly going round corners, not just when puttering around in a straight line!

There are some classic cars, which not only look great, but *for their age*, can still handle well round a track. Therefore, if I were in the market for buying such a car, it would have to pass the latter test as well as simply be 'a looker'.

After all, it's not an ornament - it's got to be FUN to drive, too!!
