“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Was hoping that the lack of sunshine this morning would mean I could sleep late but woke up at 0600 with no chance of going back to sleep.

Dreamt that I had acquired a mint condition Morris Ital - Yeah, who knows? - and was giving a lady friend a lift. I was demonstrating to her that the automatic aerial lift/lower still worked and became distracted, causing me to crash into a friend's mint condition Austin Allegro, badly denting his off side rear wing. Fortunately he was quite sanguine about it.

Same here, but that's pretty usual for me.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Ha, what have you been smoking? It's the Feng Shui, mate, you've fucked it up with all that tidying! So if you want to sleep, you'll have to put it all back again, in order to restore the 'harmonic balance' of your environment

The night before last I dreamed that someone told me I'd been elected King of Greece. As I was waking up, I thought to myself 'I'm not sure that's right, I'd better check it on Wikipedia'.

Plenty of people have had British Leyland nightmares though. My first car was a Morris Marina, so I should know

I've been trying to find out if the Ital actually did have an automatically retracting aerial but I can't find any information about it. I doubt it did.
