    Default Radford sc22

Hi all, im using a Radford sc22 but it sounds bright and bass light through the phono stage, i have tried an external phono stage and it seems ok, also ok on cd, any ideas as to why the built in phono stage sounds like this, thankyou, regards, peter

Sounds like there's no RIAA conversion happening, is the volume decent or very quiet?

Stupid question but you're using the disc input? Volume would be low if you weren't.

There's plenty of possible reasons but one simple thing worth checking is there's a preset gain control for the phono stage internally
