Default Proart amplifiers in my second system

Just been experimenting on my second system.

    Tisbury passive attenuator.
    Bi-amped Proart amplifiers.
    Dali Zenzor Pico speakers.

These items just seem to gel. Tried various other speaker/amplifier/pre combinations.

There's an emotional and dynamic sound that's outstanding for the cost.

    Glad they're working for you Gary . . . .

Wish I could say the same. I seem to be the only person on AOS who hasn't made them work.

Super flat and un-involving with my 63's . . . Strange, as users of 57's absolutely rave about them.

Did Alan's mod too and still couldn't get on with them.

Oh well nothing ventured etc . . . wasn't a fan of the, errr fan either.

Did you give them chance to run in?

I'm not a fan of the fan either, but I have plans for that

I think they are pre-amp sensitive if used as power amplifier, I tried other pre-amps and agree with your comments "flat and uninvolving", it was the Tisbury that bought everything to life. So synergy between components rings out again.

Sorry they didn't work for you.

A good 3-4 hours a day for 3 days and things did not improve. Running them direct from source sounded okay but it was so far away from where I wanted it to be there would be no break-in improvement possible to even get them close. Tried with two different tube pre-amps but just did nothing for me. Wrong speaker, wrong setup me thinks.

I'm considering a system overhaul in light of a house move anyway so I may be back to square one as it were!

How are you doing the bi-amped part Gary? Same signal into both inputs and one O/P to tweeter and one to woofer?

ohmage wont be an issue but think they are only 84 rated sensitive so that might be. I found they liked a more sensitive speaker, no idea why tho really

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

One amp to each speaker fed from left and right on pre-amp, Pico's only have one terminal so can't separate woofer and tweeter.
