Card with Volumio on it will be corrupt, require rewrite the Volumio image to the card and reinsert it into the Pi and boot it.

Volumio can fail if the Pi wasn't shut down properly so it's best to rewrite it.

The card can also fail too so try another if you have one.

    Ok.
Internet arrives in the house to the router.
This has its own IP address
I then run an Ethernet cable from this to a wireless access point box.
This has a separate IP address. Not the same as the router.

The pi’s are then all connected by Ethernet to the wireless access point box.

So I have two internet points in the house, but the pi’s can only be controlled by connecting to the WAP box

    Maybe!!!!

It takes some serious misadventure to corrupt an ssd card! (Volumio is quite robust)

Not to say that ain’t the problem.

If I were there I’m sure I could resolve this minor issue.... but alas not.

It's not the card the gets corrupted but the software. I knew what I meant but wrote it wrong

And it's a micro SD card in the Pi

The issue is that Volumio isn't showing up, the reason is most likely that the Volumio software is corrupt. I said card earlier but what I meant was the software on the card not the actual card itself. But having said that I have had micro SD cards go faulty after not shutting down Volumio properly before card removal, or by pulling the power lead before shutdown.

And you need to take it easy, you come across on most of your posts as Mr Angry and that yours is the only opinion that matters.
Well , that definitely not so!!!!! I only wish to help others, as I’ve been though this crap myself.

    If I’m Mr angry ...... then ..... I Apologize.

Obviously, my opinion is not required, so I’ll butt out, and offer Nothing more to say.

As for my opinion only matters... I think not! There are many out there cleverer than I.

Never had this said before...... disappointed.

If I came across as Mr Angry.... sorry.

However, I will remember your name!!!!!! And not to offer any advice in future!

We're both trying to get to the same result no?

You've offered your advice, I've offered mine, somewhere in the middle hopefully Colin would find a solution.

I put my thoughts forward as I've had the very same thing happen at least twice with Volumio and a failed mSD card.

Yes, Volumio is fairly robust but it's not infallible.
