Not only do the Rega turntables perform superbly well but they are about as plug n play and trouble free as is possible. You know that you can turn it on and play records whenever you wish without worrying about 'tuning', 'tweaking' and bits falling off.

Rega have always gone for light and stiff and as the years have gone by, they have employed new materials to maintain that philosophy. When you have been used to big and heavy, the Rega approach may be a bit disconcerting but the results speak for themselves.

£4,500 is a lot of money but there are many decks hugely more expensive and as that includes a good arm and MC cartridge, I don't think it is unreasonable.
I spent years piddling about with an LP12 in the belief it was the best because I hadn't listened to enough decks and it was my perceived ideal.
If you go in to a shop, have a listen and say I'll have it then it must have moved the purchaser emotionally. It's certainly better than relying on reviews!
