    Default HI, Fron Montreal

    Hello every one
MY name is Jean-Philippe, hi live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I discover music because of my older brothers, so I had the chance to start my journey with music like; Robert Fripp, KItaro, ELP, King Crimson, Billy Cobham, Deodato, etc...
along those artists, a lot of Jazz, Contemporary music, Classical, World and more of the electronic analog Age.

Today I'm more than ever listening to a large rang of genres with a special place for the electronic music.

I was for around 10 years in the vintage gear until I finally found a good match for me, so now I have for my main system
    Main:
Sansui AU 999 Amp ReCap and modified
    Sansui Tu 999 Tuner ReCap
    Lenco L75
    MHZS CD33E modified Cd Player
And a nice Pair of Yamaha NS-690

    Second:
Sansui 9090, totally refurbish, Recap with HI quality CAps
    EPI-100 REcap and restored
another pair of Yamaha NS-690....love those

    Studio:
    Sansui AU-999
    Studio MOnitors
    COntrollers for Traktor....DJ

I work in the music industry for Moog Audio
WE sale and install pa system for a lot of Bar in MOntréal and around, plus the lightning systems and video.

WE have a wonderful Music festival call MUtek, it's been 12 years now that I go there to dance and discover worldwide electronic Artits.
The festival is now in different country...to discover for music lover.

I have start to put all my collection in flac, so that is my goal, to have all my music dematerialized and accessible from anywhere and still keeping a hi quality sound, that I can afford.

Nice meeting the Art of Sound peoples

    Thank you.

BTW, English is not my mother language....so, sorry in advance.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

That's some nice vintage Sansui gear you have there.

There's a lot going on here, so feel free to join in and chat with everybody.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Default that's a warm welcome

Here some pics that I took in the past years of my constant evolution.

Now I'm quite satisfied with the systems I've got. Still have some modifications to do, like; better speaker cables, recapping my NS690, better IEC cables for my amp and finally, decide what to do in term of streaming my music....

the pics or not recent but it kind of give the idea.

thank you agin for the warm welcom

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.
