Default FS Used/Ex-dem Vivant MC/MM phono stage

Thinning down the boxes that are around, I have the original Vivant hybrid MC/MM phono stage.

This is pre-owned and also been used as a demonstrator. In perfect working order but with very minor blemishes to the top and sides, impossible to photograph as the silver surfaces are reflective.

Offered on here to AoS members at £550 plus postage at cost.

Direct MC input, default impedance 1000 ohms, two 100 ohm loading plugs included.
When switch set for MM input, impedance 47K.

Valve line up is 1st stage PCC88, 2nd stage 6N2P, to give high gain (suitable for low output carts) or high output when used with typical output level cartridges.
High output is very suitable for use with passive preamps.
MC gain 72dB, MM gain 48dB.

30 second mute on power up.

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

Bump for this very fine sounding phono preamp.

I'm sure we are all aware of the rider 'Specifications subject to change due to ongoing research and development' or some such.
This now applies to the circuit design of this preamp as I have tweaked it to flatten the phase response over the audio band.

This is now revealing even more of the micro detail that gives the space and 'air' to the soundstage, improving the clarity and realism.
If you are in the market for a top quality valve phono stage then you won't go wrong with this.

    BUMP.

After discussion I have reduced the gain down from the 72dB which was considered too high. There is now a choice of 64dB or 68dB with a swap over of second stage valve.

Had a brief listen to this yesterday. Much improved thanks to the mods.

    Good price too.

Ive just read a review of this phonostage and this sounds like a very good unit!

Would it work ok with a Koetsu Red T?

No problem at all, the Koetsu has a healthy 0.4mV output.

The impedance can be set on the Vivant to whatever matches well.

Alan you should have brought this along to NEBO 10. I would have love to have heard it. If it's as good as Mike's OTP it will be a gudden. If you are up North at all drop in with it unless of course someone has your hand off. Iv'e put a link on the NEBO FBP Alan.
