As predicted, pishing down, and has been since the early hours of the morning - and it's set for that for the remainder of the day. Thank goodness I got all my jobs done in the garden yesterday (and enjoyed a nice evening BBQ in the sunshine, al fresco)

Based on the forecast, there won't be much respite from the rain either next week!

    Marco.

Thunderstorm overnight here, woke me up. Torrential rain too. Cleared up now. Sun isn't quite out but it's bright enough.

Did it really wake you up, or had you set your alarm so you didn't miss it

Something odd going on around here - last two nights have seen the march of the maggots down our garden path. No idea where they are coming from, but I'm guessing perhaps something like a dead bird or mouse nearby, and the heavy rain's washed them out. Next morning they're all gone

There are a few dozen of them, and though their positions seem random, they are mostly heading towards the house. Which got Mrs. P in a panic, so at midnight she was going at them with bleach and a stiff brush. Can't have maggots on Mother Kelly's doorstep, oh no.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

she was quite right..more power to her bleaching arm

if my mum was angry she used to say , you'll get a good bleaching in a minute... we thought she would sprinkle bleach on us, but it didnt mean that at all. it just meant she would beat us to a pulp

When I'm in a deep sleep nothing will wake me up, short of an earthquake! I even slept through our burglar alarm going off once.... Thunderstorms? No chance.

Piggurs, in terms of your crawling friends, I suspect that the rain's washed up those piles heavily-cacked scants you buried in the garden, because you were too embarrassed to pop them in the washing machine

Best burn them next time, unless you want a repeat performance... However, the question that begs asking, is what was Anita doing up at midnight looking at the garden path in the dark, to even notice that the maggots were there? You guys seem to have an aversion to sleep!

Marco [invariably in the land of nod at midnight and beyond].
