You might want to try a 66, several on eBay if you cannot find a 99. There is this if you have not seen it already https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quad-99-V...MAAOSw7GRZDfJD

Just noticed a couple of 77's on ebay for around £250, one is tested.

Hi Mike, Here's one, though I've no idea if this a keen price or not. Cheers, Ian.

£400 seems a bit high. I got one in good condition for £275 about six months ago so that would be a target price IMH. They may have gone up a bit but I wouldn’t pay more than £300. Definitely a pre to go for with MM/MC, a good range of inputs and a good remote.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Ebay prices really are a lottery! I’ve just seen the one for £410 but one went for £306 sometime earlier. BTW the one that went for £510 included the power amp so the pre alone would probably have fetched around £325. Just shows you need patience and luck.

£400 I thought was good if in good condition and no damage, sometime it’s all down to availability and demand. £100 is nothing today, the cost of a good pair of shoes.

I'm only interested around the £200 mark. Thought they were cheap.
