Default In line Schaffer IEC mains filter

    Hi Guys
I’ve been playing with an in-line iec Schaffner mains filter. It does seem to make a difference when used on my valve amp. I just wired into a short piece of cable so that I can move it around the equipment with minimum fuss just to hear the effect. I just plug the mains into the iec filter and then I wired an iec on the output and just plug into the equipment. Just to test the effect on each.

Anyway I’m convinced it does make difference for the better. My question can I wire it into the mains lead serving all the power outlets on my extension thereby filtering all mains for all the connected equipment in one go? of course the cheapest option. Or do I need one for each piece of equipment? The filter is rated at 10A so it ought to big enough.

    Grateful for your thoughts

    Many thanks

    Regards

    Bill

A single 10A Schaffner filter feeding your distribution strip ought to be fine.

There is a 10A Schaffner filter (FN 343-10-05) fitted in an Olsen 6-way distribution strip, which I used to use with my audio system.
