    Default Greetings all

    Good evening,
I'm a relatively new hi-fi enthusiast who enjoys nothing more than listening to the likes of Nick Cave or Lou Reed late at night.
Preferably through Class A amplification and open baffle speakers; with a rum in hand and the lights low

Have neither Class A, open baffles nor rum, but that does sound idyllic! Welcome to AoS Joe, hope you enjoy the forum.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Been lucky enough to try many systems in my room in recent years. As my quest for 'my' perfect sound has become more of an obsession that is rather hectic in nature if I'm honest.
Some of the stand out components were:
    Grimm LS1s
    Linkwitz LX521.4
    Luxman L-509u
Couple of the larger Focal Utopias, but not when matched with Devialet.

Currently running a Lyngdorf TDAI 2170 as a pre/DAC only to use it's room correction.
In to a couple of class A amps (Pathos TT and Tellurium Q Iridium). Into Spatial M3 Turbo S speakers for the open baffle presentation that I love. However, much to my wife's despair, I also have some Ubiq model one speakers next to these that are over delivering on expectations. Leading to yet another rethink of the system.
For me comparing and experimenting is all part of the fun journey.
