No furry dice but my mk1 Escort had ‘go faster’ stripes that I applied so they were a bit wobbly.

This seems to be turning into a somewhat comedic thread. I don't think that does the issue justice and could be perceived as an acceptance of the content as back and forth banter.

Sorry about that Geoff - kids will be kids when the adults leave the room. No one is trying to make light of the problem, but Marco kind of opened the door with the comment about "Essex chavs".

Marco, you really don't need to tell us about your stuff, we all know you don't buy crap

Our sofas and matching recliner chairs (mostly hidden in the pic he's referring to) are from Laura Ashley, and in the fabric and style we chose, were nearly nearly £4k: https://www.lauraashley.com/en-gb/fa...upholstered/49

We hate leather sofas, as they feel 'cold'. not warm and comfy, like more traditional stuff, and also, in our opinion, leather is the rather vulgar badge of chavs! The curtains are also Laura Ashley, and even the curtain poles and ceiling light are bespoke handmade wrought iron items from Nigel Tyas: https://www.nigeltyas.co.uk/

The wood burner is a top-of-the range model from Charnwood, and which is reassuringly expensive: https://www.charnwood.com/

As for the rest of the "skip material", the room is full of many genuine antiques, dating from as early as the 17th century, including an oak coffee table, Windsor chair and genuine Welsh dresser, the value of which an uncultured and ignorant oik such as him would have no concept of.

The "£200 quid TV" is actually a £900 Sony 4K HDR model, which is plenty big enough for our needs, as unlike inside the homes of Essex chavs, in our house huge mass-produced plastic TVs aren't considered as an asset, but rather an eyesore, and so aren't the main focal point. That honour is reserved for our beautiful inglenook fireplace and wood burner, with an original water-colour painting of Llangollen above

The doors in our lounge are all original Victorian, fitted with beautiful stained-glass panels, all bespoke and handmade to our spec from a specialist antiques supplier. And lastly (although I could mention lots more), there's a £3k home-cinema system in there too, which plays movies and music to a very high standard. And I won't even mention our £40K brand new bespoke handmade kitchen, just next door.....

Therefore Peck's ridiculing of our possessions, simply showcases his total buffoonery and ignorance!!

I shall banish a few more of his myths tomorrow.

    Marco.

P.S I wouldn't normally be so vulgar as to mention prices, but feel sure that he'll approve.
You don't need to justify what you have in your house to us, certainly not him or anybody else. As long as you're happy with it don't give some sad Internet weirdo the satisfaction of responding to him. (again we need a thumbs up emoji)
    Marantz CD63 KI Signature
    Project Debut II
    Pioneer A656 Reference
    Epos M5s
    Atacama Stands
Maplin speaker cable cos I can't hear a difference
    Various interconnects as above

Mate, you shouldn’t have to prove anything, responding like this is falling into the trap of effectively opening a dialogue. Don’t feed the troll.

I understand feeling the need to set the record straight, but no one wins and everyone loses in a tit for tat exchange of posts on the internet.

If you want to take a bit of control then report the site for spreading hate, delete the thread, move on - end of sad episode.

Flippancy was not my intention, apologies to Marco if it came across as such, I was merely trying to lighten the mood.
