FS: Ortofon SPU #1S

My second time owning one of these, I got it for a play because my Garrard 401 + AT 1503 MkI was coming back to me and I wanted a dedicated SPU to put on it. The reason for selecting the spherical version (having also previously owned the elliptical) is its musicality and oomph. It really is a boogie machine.

This one is in perfect order. It’s probably done 30 sides, but I have a lot of other cartridges and I need to fund-raise towards a new arm to replace the 12in Ikeda - hence its on the block. Offered at £360 including RMSD.

Thanks Adam. It's amazing how many people have never heard one! Always astonishes me. Like a set of Quad ESLs, or one of the classic 60s trilogy of Radford STA25 /Leak Stereo 20 / Quad II monoblocks, it's something everyone should aspire to own at some stage in their hifi journey.
