    Impulse H2 - very nice!

They like to be as close as poss to the back wall ime for the best bass response.

Excellent - their bass drops away very rapidly if they are a few feet into the room and they can sound quite weedy and forward.
    Lovely speakers when sited well.

Al, check out the H2 pages on the Acoustica website, there is a minor mod to do on the crossover that is well worth doing.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Impulse H2s are lovely speakers. In fact they are one of the very few folded horn-loaded speakers I can listen to and enjoy.

A friend of mine has a pair, tri-wired to an Audio Innovations 500 amplifier. They are located about 1/3 of the length of an L-shaped room. According to Jerry. this would appear not to be optimum, but my friend has little option. I can remember hearing that the reviewer Jimmy Hughes found turning the speakers around pointing into the corners improved the sound enormously; presumably the corner was acting as the final part of the horn.

Anyway, well done on finding yours. They are reasonably tall at around 4', but have a small footprint. What amplifier will you use with them?

I think that was more to do with the room he used them in.
I visited his apartment in the Barbican once, and he had a 2 level living room - the speakers were in the far corners on the lower level and the listening area was 6 or 8 feet higher at the other end of the space.
Strange setup, I think he found other speakers worked best for him facing the wall in that way as well.
